H.E. Dr. Abdul-Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Oil & Gas Affairs, Chairman of the National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) and Chairman of Bapco’s Board, chaired Bapco’s Board meeting at Al-Dar in Awali on Tuesday, December 29, 2009.
The meeting addressed a number of key issues related to development programmes in Bapco, and reviewed the current operational performance of the company. The meeting discussed progress of the “Bapco 2012 and Beyond” project, which aims to identify opportunities to reduce operating costs. A competent team consisting of senior employees as well as expert consultants are looking at what measures can be taken to ensure that Bapco remains a successful business entity while meeting its responsibility and commitment to its employees and to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
H.E. the Minister also reviewed progress of Bapco’s major ingoing projects, and recent developments in cooperation with Tatweer Petroleum. Board members also reviewed developments in Bapco’s ongoing scholarship schemes.
H.E. the Chairman expressed his thanks and appreciation for the valued continuous support and follow-up of the wise political leadership of the Kingdom led by H.M. the King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Prime Minister H.R.H. Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and H.R.H. the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.
At the end of the meeting, H.E. Dr. Mirza thanked the management and employees for their dedicated role in serving the company, and issued his directives for continuing their fine efforts to face the challenges of the industry and enhancing Bapco’s leading status regionally and internationally.
